Please note that these browsing tips mostly are for Microsoft Internet Explorer. Some of the tips may also apply to Netscape Navigator, but are not tested.

If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer you can press F11 on your keyboard to maximize the browser window to Full Screen. In Full Screen mode, you'll be able to view a lot more at the same time. To restore the browser back to the way it was, just press F11 again.

If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer you have the ability to 'quick jump' in the browser's history, using the little arrow pointing down on the back and forward buttons on the toolbar. (If those buttons are not showing, your 'Standard Buttons' toolbar most likely is disabled. To enable it, go to View > Toolbars and click on 'Standard Buttons'). By selecting the small arrow, a drop-down list is displayed; showing the titles or page file names of the web pages or web sites you have been to. If the site you want to return to, is not present in the drop-down list, then simply click on the last entry in the list and you will automatically be taken further back into the browser's history. Continue till you see the name of the site/page you wish to go back to.

To save a page, select 'File' from the top menu bar, and then select 'Save As...'.

To print a selection, highlight with the mouse/cursor the text/images you want printed. Then do one of the following:

  • Right-click over the highlighted/selected text/image and choose 'Print' from the pop-up menu.
  • Go to the top menu bar of the browser and select 'File', then 'Print…'.
  • Choose 'Print' from the toolbar (click print icon).
Then make sure 'Selection' is selected in the printing dialog box under Print Range. Next click on 'Properties' (Printer properties) and select 'Portrait' or 'Landscape' in the paper orientation/layout section.
